Their utility depends on what you're doing.

I've purchased a few Irwin clamp sets ---- these are the light duty - and they're so-so.

You can reverse these to turn them into spreaders - but it's NOT a quick switch, like it is with other Irwin sets.

Also - the two sides of the clamp are not always perfectly aligned --- so you lose some of your clamping power (some of the pressure gets diverted).

Just opened and put away my clamps.

God, that had to be the most irritating piece of clamshell packaging ever devised by man.

Stupid work schedule kept me away from Lowes while this was on sale... Please everyone, post up again if you see them come on sale. I wasn't kidding, I would like to grab a half dozen of these sets (I like having clamps per the dozen when possible, not sure why, just a habit I guess...)

Don't really care about the minis, but the 6" and 12" are sizes I can use!

This should still be on sale at Lowes throughout BF. I was there picking my up and saw a stack of them on the floor marked at $20 for BF.

Too late, they're back to $39.88. Hey, best thing to do is go to lowes.com and order them as soon as you hear the deal. If your store has them, Put them in local store pick up, pay with a CC and then you won't have to search for them or beat anyone else to the punch. Pick it up at your leisure (or within 30 days, anyway). THat's how i got mine.
And last night after midnight I put the Werners's platform in my cart and paid for it. Should be waiting for me Friday morning. Was $44 before midnight, $17 after midnight (BF sale begins Thursday thru Sunday; the store is closed Thursday but the online website is open and taking orders). I do the same thing at Sears now for deals at sears.

Thanks for the heads up on the platform. Just ordered two and paid with a Lowe's card. Got 5% off for that, so they were $16.15 each. And I didn't even need a stocking over my head.

HD has an 8 piece set on sale for $28. I believe that set has 4 of the clamps you're looking for.

ACE has a 6 piece set (only 2 hand clamps) for $20.

For what it's worth, Home Depot had 4 packs of 12" quick grips for $19.99. I was more than happy to pick up 3 4 packs so I now have 12 12" quick grips... These will be great for light glue ups...

Just got back from HD and Lowes and scored the 8 PACK irwin clamps as well as a ladder stabilizer bar for my extension ladder for $30, then sauntered over to Lowes and grabbed a 3M Household multipurpose Respirator and a box of 3 inch decking screws that list out at $29 each for less than $30 as well, heres another link for these coupons, better use them todays as they are no good tomorrow and print multiple to use at both stores , http://www.acehardware.com/coupon/. You can only use these in 1 transaction at a time so find a manager that understands what your trying to do, its their policy to accept competitors coupons, if they argue about it ask them to call corporate to explain it to them
