What do you think? - Air Filter

My wife complains about sawdust ----- enough to make me want to quit the hobby. Would this help?

makes a difference in the fine dust that floats around and settles on everything. I leave mine running for a couple of hours after I leave the shop to circulate the air thru the filter. I have one of those delay timer switches, usually just turn on the fan for 6 hours (more if its early in a long day) when i start cutting anything.

$75 is a good deal. esp if its a later unit with three speeds and remote control (mines one speed with no remote).
P.S. I do use it in conjunction with a DC on the TS and Jointer and planer and a Shop vac on the DP and BS. But there's still quite a bit of dust escaping esp from the MS and some sanders. In life, its hard to completely capture the fine, high velocity particles that are thrown out by the blade simply because there isn't enough velocity and airflow even with a Big DC to capture it all at the source.

Dumb question. Do you have a dust collector of any sort? That delta air filter will REALLY help with controlling the airborne dust, but the biggest part of the problem is to keep it from getting airborne in the first place... A Harbor Freight 2HP DC, with a 1 micron replacement bag or filter and a 10' hose will work wonders if you go machine to machine with it... A Thien separator will keep it breathing easy for seriously long periods between cleanings...

You may want to remind her that if you are in the shop making dust, you aren't in the bars getting drunk and chasing bimbos...Not to mention you can make her nice gifts that come from your shop. That tends to buy a lot of good will for the sawdust maker...

Ditto. It's much better to appease your wife and keep your hobby. Plus it seems like a good deal.

Like mentioned you do need so kind if DC at the tools too but I have the Jet make of this and it works great. When I bought mine I had read they wern't that great because it takes them several hours after you are done working to clean the air but I had a dust particle counter and the results are almost instant - go get it!

I already have the Jet version but a price like that would make me want to get it and have two air cleaners. They really work. Not only will your spouse love you for it, but so will your lungs.

Inquiring minds want to know, did you score the air cleaner?

If he didn't, then he needs to look up some of the plans for them, using an old furnace squirrel cage.
She couldn't tell the difference between the escape pod, and the bathroom. We had to go back for her.........................Twice.

I didn't see the CL listing. Just out of curiosity, how much was it listed for?

Edit: and I assume this was the AP-200?

Good deal... Now just score a similar kind of deal on a dust collector and you will be ready to rock and roll...
