Well I dropped by my local HD and they had just dropped them from $170 to $136. With the HF 20% off coupon, it's only about $110 + tax. Not a bad deal at all. I had my eye on a Dewault model, but even with the coupon it'd be $320. I don't think that I'd get 3x the benefit from that one that I'll get from the Ryobi... so I finally have a planer.

My local HD just dropped the floor model to $175 -- and sold it promptly.
I drove to the store a few miles south of here - and theirs was $170.
(same thing ---- floor model).
My wife's forgiveness factor doesn't kick in until it's below $100.Comment

FWIW, I have had mine now for 4 years, and aside from busting one handle (my bad) it's been a good machine. I have put several hundred BF though it and haven't had to flip the knives yet... I probably should soon though...Please like and subscribe to my YouTube channel. Please check out and subscribe to my Workshop Blog.Comment

The $57 price tag made its way to my local HD store.
However, the store had long since sold all their ryobi planers.
Not finding the ryobi box, a staff member slapped the $57 price tag on a Ridgid planer box - sitting in the space where the Ryobi normally sits.
I spotted it, immediately called the manager telling him, "I'll pay that, if you'll honor it"
Our store manager didn't want to play, thanked me for pointing out the error - and gave me a Ryobi jig saw as a thank-you.
So - I did get something out of the experience -- but darn --- sure would have enjoyed that Ridgid planer for $57!!!!Last edited by durango dude; 02-11-2012, 03:28 PM.Comment

Those of you who have hd's that clear stuff out at crazy prices stink!!!!!! My local store(s) have never shown those type of clearance prices, rarely stock anything bigger than a compound miter saw and just laught when you show them a HFcoupon. It's hard enough to get them to honor a Lowes coupon since the closest store closed.
Glad someone is getting good dealsComment
