These have been around for a while and since no ones ever reviewed it I would make the bold assumption they work as expected, but the Infared Gun definetly works well enough to even cook with IMO and thats good enough for me at that price. I'd go out on a limb here and bet that the accuracy is as they advertise, Heck a lot of WW dealers are selling they exact model for far more and even Woodcraft has an older model they sell for $90, maybe its a gamble but for $21 for the 2 of them I'd take that chance

I just wanted it to take the cats temperature, not make dinner.

Try a rectal thermometer on your cat and let us know how it worked out.

Maybe Tommy wants it for both pets and dinner - hot dogs for the 4th.

I just bought both the moisture gauge and the thermometer today. Have been thinking I needed both for some time now.
              Thanks for posting.

It's General Tools BTW, not General Instruments,
ANyway, McFeeleys sells it (moisture meter) for $50, for comparison.

This meter is probably more accurate than that.
                  ^ Describes my situation, too...

Our closest Lowe's finally dropped the price to $10, so I ordered one.

Hmmm.... Lowes.com seems to be down at the moment. I'll have to take a look tomorrow and maybe pull the trigger.

                      Lowes tool sale

I bought the moisture meter today, but the peg for the thermometer was empty. I ordered one to pick up at the store when it comes in.

I went to my local Lowes, and they were $19.99 on the shelf, but they scanned them at $9.99. I bought both, but the moisture meter didn't work, so I took it back.

You have to hold the power on button for a long time - longer than you think - about 6 seconds before it turns on. To keep from accidentally turning on, I guess. At first I thought mine was broken.
