Pretty good deals. The drill press is a steal on a very well regarded machine. The band saw is a good buy as well...

Toolguy, there are a few reviews on Amazon. Both negative ones are over set up and vibration, but a 5 star reviewer gives ideas on how to deal with those things. He also suggests a better blade and tells you what he's happy with.
At that price, if you can fix it with a few tweaks, that's excellent!

Stopped up to the local HD to pick up the band-saw. They have one at the top of the rack that I have them check the price on every couple weeks. Everytime they say that they have 0 in-stock and I have to tell them, yes you do.

Anyway, I shoe the guy at the service counter the receipt, he checks the computer and tells me none in stock and that they are still $369. I tried to get him to come down on the price but no budge. Left without the bandsaw, check again in a few weeks.

surprisingly, several stores in westchester county still have units on hand. regarding tweaking the ridgid BS, i've got an 18" jet that meets my current needs, so i'll be selling the BS. the drill press has already been sold. i was just posting a copy of the receipt for others to use in attempts to get other HDs to price match.

Stores in Milwaukee don't have the Drill Press in stock. You have to order off of the internet to get one at regular price.

The sales managers in my area won't price match other stores. Not even if they're in our area. Bummer, as I know there are some BS's around.

Thanks for the heads-up and for the receipt, toolguy.

I sniffed around a local Home Depot in Seattle (they had one bandsaw in stock) and talked to one of the managers about the NY receipt. He said the SKU is currently "inactive", which means that they won't replenish inventory as the items are sold. The HDs in this area are all have the saw in stock, but they're still selling at the regular price. However, it sounds like the saws might eventually go on clearance if they don't leave of their own accord.

I called the Home Depot 800 number and they told me they price matched the price of any of their stores. I printed the receipt and took it to my local Home Depot in NJ where the sticker price was $369. Of course they originally did not want to lower the price (they only had authorization for $100) and of course the store was in a different buying area etc.,. After a short while they agreed to lower it to $92.03. Try it it may work, otherwise file a complaint with the home office.

i'm always interested in what others have tried to get stores to match the price of other stores. what did it for you in this case? was it just the 800 number CS directing the store to honor the price match? was there something specific you said? what finally did it for you in this case?

I'm not sure. Maybe my being polite. But the home office (800 number) told me that they had to price match and if they didn't they gave me another number to file a formal complaint. I think the managers don't know the company's policies. Anyway thanks for posting the receipt. Now I have to get it out of the van.

Did you or they mention closeouts? (that could be different)
She couldn't tell the difference between the escape pod, and the bathroom. We had to go back for her.........................Twice.

They mentioned quite a few things. But ultimately their price matching policy does not exclude closeouts. Get them to read their own policy. Otherwise file a complaint with the home office.
