        +1 on that, good points.

I really do appreciate tommy's deal postings (although my budget is having a hard time with them ), I also like hearing opinions on everything that comes up.

I'm wondering if there was a bad production run on these, or the manufacturer changed their specs. A lot of the reviews are quite polar.

I think it depends to some great extent on if you are rating value for money or whether you are rating a DP table primarily on its merits for drilling.

For all the things a DP does, this one probably fulfills some peoples needs quite well and does not fulfill other's needs well at all.

When you factor in the relatively low cost of this table (the small one can be had for under $30) then for those with modest needs its a good buy and for those with more complex needs or needs it doesn't fulfill well, then its a case of you get what you pay for.

I think this forum is big enough we can state our opinions without running down others' opinions. Those who come here often will get a sense of who's judgments mirror theirs or at least can be trusted. No need for you guys to get persnickity with one another. I for one like to hear the pros and cons of items being touted as bargains, because a bargain in one person's eye might be a dog in another person's eye. Be clear about your objections but be polite and respectful.

I thought it was a good discussion - a deal was listed, and past owners opined on it's value for money and value overall. Nobody was bashing personalities.

For those of you who found this one not built all that great, which other would you recommend?

Last time I tried to toss a fireball my trebuchet burned to the ground. Gonna make the next one out of titanium with unobtanium ballast…

To un-hijack the thread, I too like reading about the bargains, although it puts me in the doghouse with LOML.

Oh, and I agree with UC—I can read a flame war just about anywhere, which is why I spend most of my recreational time here.

Now back to your regularly scheduled programming…

The Pinnacle table at Woodcraft is very similar to the one at Woodpeckers, I think the only difference is the red vs black anodized tracks.

I built mine in a similar fashion just a little bit smaller. I can also use the HF router fence on mine or the normal t-track fence.

I'm thinking of getting the Pinnacle (I like black tools), anyone have one or knows if its any good.

I don't really feel like making my own, I'd probably spent more on materials than it costs.
