HF DC on sale, AND 20% off coupon...

HF 20% Coupon this weekend only. Not sure if they are customer specific. I already used mine.

On the current ad, the 5 micron 2HP DC is $179.99, with the 20% off coupon, it rings up at $143.99.

Also do NOT believe the folks if you call in to check stock on it. They flat out lied to me, every one of the Houston metro area stores claimed to have none in stock, but I went in, fully expecting to get nothing but a rain check, and ended up with a HF DC following me home... Now I need to assemble and plumb this thing! (Not to mention provide a circuit for it. I think I will tap into the 110V 20A that goes to the washing machine only. I kind of can tell when laundry is happening, and we haven't ever had both going at once...

Always ask. It's not in any retailer's interest to offer one.

they always are good about giving rainchecks (undated, at that, many stores its only good for 30 days) unless it specificailly says no rainchecks and I dont ever recall that. Sometimes they offer, or just ask.

P.S. I think its good for the store. Get's you in the store the first time even if you think they might not have the sale item in stock, Gets you back in the store a second time when you might not otherwise be back. HF stores tend to get a lot of impulse buys if they can get you in the store... I confess I am susceptible.

Be aware that those laser thermometers are no good from more than a couple of inches away from the surface you are measuring. They typically have a 1 to 1 ratio, where if you are 5 feet away from a surface, they measure the average temperature of a 5 foot diameter circle surrounding the laser.

The laser implies pinpoint accuracy, but the temperature measurement is more like a flashlight.

I think they have several models the one that looks like a remote has a wide aperature, the ones that look like guns have much narrower aperatures like 8:1 or 12:1 which is typical of the gun ones. 12:1 means that at a distance of 12 feet the sensitive area of measurement is 1 foot wide.

This is one of the best prices ever, particularly since it has the 5 micron bags. Anyone sitting on the fence should jump on this.

Yeah, HF gives rain checks. The Pasadena TX store gives rain checks that are sometimes pointless. I got a Raincheck for the 36" wood handled bar clamps, 2 months and almost daily calls later I gave up and bought the plastic handled ones because I needed the long clamps...

It is, if generating foot traffic in the store matters. And I'm pretty sure that HF is the kind of store that lives or dies by foot traffic generation. Thus the innumerable sales and coupons...

Not a single one exists in the Sacramento area - including warehouse according to one manager. I got a raincheck and will hope for a 20% coupon when they get more in.

I am curious what the stock levels of these are around the country...

I do know that with the 20% off coupon these are a great deal, but even without it's still a good price...

The 5 micron bags are certainly better than the old 30 micron dust pumpers, but these still miss the ultrafines. My thought process is that at $143.99, + $103.00 for the Wynn filter, I can have good (as good as 4" can do) CFM, and filtration on the ultra fines. This is a good thing. I have no intention of running mine with the 5 micron bag at all...

I would consider swapping in a 1 micron bag, but would have no clue where or which one to get...

My plan is for the HF plus the Wynn - it is a good deal and I agree that it is probably the best you can do for a reasonable price.

For the time being I am wheeling everything outside - although that has been problematic with all the rain we have been getting.

If I were to use my HF DC with the original 5 Micron bag, I would wheel it outside and put it under my EZ Up canopy.

I am pretty anxious about wanting to get the Wynn, and a completed Thien cyclone separator on a trash can or steel drum. (Whichever I can find, most likely trash can).

Is there a coupon for this weekend? I want to get the multimaster knockoff and they are full price now. :-(

Not that I have seen. Just this past weekend...

Check your sale flyer though, They have sent out some coupon books recently in various items. It may be in there...
