    Delta 6" Jointer at Rockler

I was at Rockler today and picked up the sale flyer. Starting Saturday January 3rd, they have the Delta JT360 jointer for $199. Unfortunately, I just ordered the $100 Freud router from Lowe's and can't get anymore big toys for a while. It's probably not the best 6" jointer out there, but $199 is a good buy.

Isn't this the same model one of the BORG's was clearing out a couple of months ago?

Yeah, that's the one. It's a great little machine. I've already got my money's worth using it.

I have that same unit but paid only $87.00 for it at Lowes back in june when they were discontinuing those units. It,s a great unit and very heavy about 250 to 300 lbs.

Wow, that's a heck of a deal Tommy! The HDs by me (there are three HDs within 10 minutes) never have any of the good deals I hear about on here and the closest Lowe's is 1/2 hr away.

They have quite a few great deals for this promo, I got the same flyer when I was there the other day. I'd love to have a jointer, but they only have a few per store and I don't relish the idea of getting there at 3 or 4am to wait for the store to open at 7am. I don't do Black Friday sales anymore either, bah humbug. I suspect if Lowe's cleared their inventory and Rockler is blowing them out on special that there'll be other places doing the same sometime soon....

I like my JT360... $199 (or less) is a real good deal.

I wonder if the Rockler affiliate in Houston, The Cutting Edge will honor this price?

AFAIK, Rockler is Rockler and they have their store and Cutting Edge is Cutting Edge and they are going out of business, currently liquidating inventory.

Wasn't aware of that. I always thought Cutting Edge was a Rockler affiliate.

Never knew there was a Rockler in Houston...

                      dbhost,
Cutting Edge is a Rockler affiliate for certain items, but the majority of their stuff is other manufacturers and priced by Cutting Edge. This includes all of their power tools.

Rockler's Houston store is on 59 near 610, pretty good people there....

If you need one and can get to a rockler the $199 price is a good one. I have one of these JT360s (also picked up when Lowes was dumping them for ~$90 - sorry) and other than wishing for a kick A$$ 12" jointer I have not been dissapointed.

Its reasonably quiet, tables are flat and the fence is solid. It still doesnt help with stupidity - I managed to run some stock through it over the holiday that had a hidden nail and took a chunk out of my knives. I just ordered some new ones from Brian at Holbren and will let you know how they work out.

I did without a decent jointer for quite some time but oh boy how does it help once you get one. Starting a project with perfectly milled sq stock makes life soooo much easier. If I were to go back in time I would have got one much sooner.

I purchased the Delta jointer from Amazon for a total of $311.50 ($235 for the jointer and $76.50 shipping and handling) several weeks ago. The unit was purchased through Grizzly.

uh oh. $200 could be in danger. I don't have a jointer and do have a rockler 30 min down the road. Been waiting for a killer deal like the Lowes $100 jointer, but might wait a while for that to come back again.

Course finding a place for the thing could be a problem...
