Ridgid 2.5 gallon Twin Tank compressor 49.00

Picked this up at the Ridgid forum

    The model # is OF25135A

The Home Depot SKU # is 670-549

Your luck will vary depending on available stock but it's worth a shot at your local HD.
Great price for a small compressor if you can find it. You can see pictures on ebay from the vultures who are snagging them.

    Good luck

I googled the model number and found the information online. I also found the forum that originally had the deal. Kinda cheeses me off that people go and buy 4 or 5 of them to make a profit off of. 1 extra I can kinda understand, but what's the point of having a online community/ forum where it's every person for themselves and who cares if no one else can get a deal?

    Or maybe I'm wrong.

You aren't wrong. My guess is that the members aren't the problem, the 'guests' who view the deals and abuse it are the ones ruining it for the members that arrive five minutes after the store got cleaned out.

To have those lurkers view ads which provide revenue to the site? That's the only point I can see.

Well, I will add my opinion on the deal part. There are literally hundreds of deal sites like this one out there. So if something is a great deal and gets posted on one of the the sites, hundreds of thousands of people know about it within minutes.

also, there are many, many people who do this for a living. They scour all the deal forums to find deals, run out and buy the stuff, then sell it. I don't blame them a bit for buying the entire lot. more power to them.

My guess is that you are a bargain hunter too. All of your posts (4 pages worth) are on bargain alerts and none on woodworking.

However, there is absolutely nothing wrong with bargain hunting. Its just nice to share.

I don't personally buy and resell bargains but hey, its a free country and if the seller doesn't limit the quantity there's no reason why someone shouldn't be able to buy em all and resell.

Naive if we think the public will regulate themselves, heck in CA nobody stops at a stop sign anymore and if you do you'll get rear ended.

i agree. we do not need to put someone down for buying and selling. isnt that what the stores are doings, but at a larger scale. there is all this anger, man, be positive and your chance will come to get one. i dont find many of the deal either, but oh well and move on.

anyways, my experience today. i called the two hd near me and they were the only ones with them in stock. one showed one, and the other showed three. i know the inventory is terrible at hd, so i went to the place that had three. guess what, none.

so i just gave up, but at the last minute turned into the one next to my house and they actually had one. but the lady at the check out refused to sell it and said that she needs a managers clearance. she called and they talked on the phone. then he came down and looked at it and said, well if it scans for $49, then sell it for $49. he asked me how i knew, i told him i found out online, and she said we dont match online prices. i just looked at her in disbelief, and said, i am not asking for a price match. she just looked back. unbelievable. there are people like this, they cant have anything good happen to others.

so, just take a breath and try to be positive. i turely believe that if there is good that is to come your way, then no one can stop it. however, if its the opposite, then no one will be able to help.

                        regards,

You are correct, i do frequent this board strictly for the bargains.

That being said, I am a professional and this is about the only one geared towards tools that I have found. Unfortunately due to the housing market I couldn't afford to buy the deals in bulk anyway.

Seems Kind Of Low Rent To Me. The Word Greedy Comes To Mind.

What's wrong with greed? It built this country. If it weren't for greed you wouldn't be enjoying most of the inventions you enjoy, the infrastructure, the stores, the places to go.
