Thanks Ken I've been thinking about buying a set myself. Does anyone know in addition to preventing kickback do the rollers pull the workpiece towards the fence like automatice feed rollers?

I've been waiting for a good price also, although being stingy with safety doesn't make a lot of sense! :-)

Ryan, I believe so. the rollers are tilted in toward the fence so in my simple mind I see that applying pressure towards the fence.

So are Board Mates knock off copies of the originals, Board Buddies?

          Mates:

          Buddies:

From the pictures, if the're not the same, they sure must have copied the castings closely. There's the overgrip on the handles different...
And I guess with the Peachtree deal you get the mounting hardware included.

Sorry if this makes me sound dense but how are these things mounted? Description says it is mounted on the fence but how does that work? Going just from the picture I thought it was mounted on the track.

The track that comes with the Board Mates mounts to the slot on the top of the fence.

              Loring,

These look exactly like the board buddies I have.

Yes they do apply an inward force to the fence, its really nice.
Especially long rips where your further from the table,
and if your willing to remove your splitter, they can help with some pretty thin stuff aswell...

Im thinking they would do nice on my router table as well...

Will this work on a unifence?

EDIT: I think I may need to purchase the Uni T Fence.

So would you still use a feather board if this was installed?

This is a good deal - I paid around $30 w/25% off a while back just for the rollers.

This is not mine but hope to do the same on my Biesemeyer (I also recently modified my Incra WonderFence to accept these):

I regularly use feather boards and splitters but on the occasion I don't use a splitter I noticed that the work piece has a tendency to come off the fence after it has passed the blade. I was looking for something that keeps the board against the fence after the blade where a feather board wouldn't work.

I have Grip-tite which works good for keeping the board against the fence... Grip-tite does the job like board buddies plus I can use it on the jointer which helps a lot.
