Does that mounting plate work for most routers or just Ryobi? Is it required for me to mount a bosch or hitachi router under the bt3100 table?

the router mounting plate is pre-drilled for Ryobi/ C'man routers, but you can drill the necessary holes for whatever brand router you want to use, it is
just an alunimum plate. eezlock

I want to mount my router to the table on my saw. Would I need the Alum. plate or just mount it to the table? I have Alum. in different thicknesses.
Could someone tell me what thickness the plate is, already have a template cut out for the plate.

The plate is approx 1/4" thick.
Maybe doesn't need to be that thick, I think 1/4" plywood might work nicely.

Some people have indeed mounted their routers directly to the Auxiliary table, but I think the adapter plate is a little neater. Probably because the mounting holes bolt pattern for the router will land somewhere in the ridges of the table top, the countersinks will look bad (and may not be deep enough).

Found it in the Hamilton Mill store in Dacula GA for $79. Actually I think there were 2 more left. Was hoping to get it for $40, picked it up anyway and I'll try to decide if I think it's worth it.
