I remember seeing them as well. If I remember correctly they were priced at $29.99 or $19.99 for 24" clamps.

If your only tool is a hammer, you tend to treat all problems as if they were nails.

I was at HF today, here in Amherst, NY. They had four of the parallel jaw clamps made by Central Machinery. They were 24" and $29.99. Very nice quality. Not quite as nice as the Besseys, but pretty darn close. Since they are priced similary to the Besseys, I would pass. But if they go on sale, as everything does at HF, then they might be a bargain.

Not all that much cheaper that the Bessey/Jet/Woodcraft equivalents.
In fact, the Woodcraft by Bessey clamps are slightly cheaper. So no bargain, unless a big HF sale or coupon.

I bought a single 24" one for $20 on sale. I have another 3 waiting for me on a raincheck for the same price. However, I'm thinking that picking up the Jet cabinet maker's set from Rockler next time it's ~$100 would be the better buy....

Ya, that way you get set up blocks and a couple of 40's as well.

Definitely $89 last time at Rockler. 2 x 24" and 2 x 40" and dogs and blocks and the Jets bar is indexed so the clamp assembly can't slide down on your fingers when your least expecting it.
