Sears Hardware in Queens, New York has a closeout on Craftsman Jointers, model # 21706, for $99.00. They were sold at $399.00 before. I don't know if other Sears stores have them, but if you need a bargain on a jointer it's worth a check next time you're in a Sears store.

Why? You may be thinking of the heart of Jamaica, the way it once was. This store is in a pretty nice area, with a big parking lot and a good Chinese buffet place across the street for a cheap meal. Sorry to bore those not from the area, but it's one of the best stores for finding good closeouts and they always seem to have great stuff in the dumpster outside.Comment

Thanks for the info. I called the store and they said they had none in stock. Of course they wouldn't check the back room or the floor, only the computer. How many did they have and where on the floor were they located?
Thanks again,

I just happened to be there today at around 2:00. Went for paint. I always peruse the tools and specifically looked at all the big shop tools and did not see that jointer there. They only had the little guy that was pretty rusted out. Where did you see it? I even looked in the back (outside the tool section) where they display the clearence tool cabinets.
Thanks,

I was there Tuesday, and next to the benchtop jointer was a sign in a plastic stand advertising the closeout on the big model with the model # 21706. I didn't buy it, and have been working too many hours to have posted it here immediately. I wrote down the model # and brought it to the counter where the woman just said that they had them in stock. I didn't see one on the floor, but that is common in this store. Sorry to not have posted it sooner, but other stores may have some.Comment
