Sears Jointer

I had posted this in a thread in the "beginner" forum, but I just wanted to let people know that I went to my local sears in MA and picked up this jointer for $83 after tax ($79.97).

I tried to put the receipt up for people to try to match, but I can't. If you need it, please shoot me an email @ JSEklund@eknutrition.com and I'll send it to you.

Oh yeah, they didn't have any in stock either. The check-out person ordered it for me!

I got it in Hyannis, MA. They didn't have ANY actually. They actually put in an order for me at that price. It should be in any day now...hoping today.

Good luck on getting the jointer. I'm really curious to see if you will be able to get it by having them order you one. A few months back I tried to get one of these jointers and tried to order it. At first they said they could order it but after checking again because it is a closeout item they weren't able to order it. I got lucky and found one at a different Sears location (Glendale, CA). They said there were 5 more at their Carson store.

Ditto. Every sears I tried said the item is discontinued and cannot be ordered, even though it is on their website.

I hope it comes in. That is my major concern that the guy who ordered it didn't know any better. If it doesn't, I may try to order it online, return it to the store, etc....maybe I can work something out. Hopefully it will just workout for me....who knows.

Also, I tried to reply to everyone who emailed me for a copy of the receipt. If I missed someone, let me know. I sent it to 4-5 people this morning.

Ditto here too although one clerk said they are now @ $249. I think they were $319. Far way from $79. Let us know if anyone gets lucky...

If i remember correctly, this was only available online for shipping to you (no in store pick-up) and shipping was well over $100 to the east coast. I think if you return it, you'd eat the shipping cost. May not be worth the gamble.

The website has them listed at $319. Is the deal only in special stores?

Just an update for everyone:

After having many people on here confirm the concern that was in the back of my mind, I called Sears last night, for a third check-up on the order. This person seemed much more knowledgeable and actually had to call me back so he could look into it further. Very helpful person. He said that it looked like the person who ordered it tried to order it from another store, that doesn't exist or something. I don't really understand, but either way, the bottom line is that it looks like it was never going to come.

I am going to try to talk with a store manager today or tomorrow and see if they can do anything to help, but I doubt it.
