2 Irwin circ. saw blades $4.20

Good buy? Can I use them?

Seems like one couldn't go wrong with this deal--BUT my Ryobi 18v Circular Saw takes 5 1/2" blades... these are 5 3/8"... would they work (being 1/8" smaller) or not?

    IRWIN 140152PK 5 3/8" 2 Piece Marathon Thin Kerf Carbide 18 Tooth Framing/Ripping & 80 Tooth Plywood Circular Saw BladesWas: $18.80 $7.49
    Now: $4.20

    Irwin blades

I have the same Ryobi saw; 5 3/8 blades are fine as long as they have a 10mm arbor hole. I looked at the blades you posted but I can't tell. It's a good price, HD sells a two-pack of blades like this for the Ryobi for somewhere between $13 and $20.

DeWalt also makes 5 3/8 blades that fit this saw (and they also sell for around $20 for two).

I looked up the blades at Irwin and they do seem to have a 10mm hole.
http://tinyurl.com/ovl46 <-- you can see their table for small blades meant for cordless saws.

My question is more basic: are these really good blades? Or more of a rough framing type blade? I know one says it's for plywood and has a high tooth count.

I went ahead and ordered 'em so I suppose I'll find out how good they are or aren't. Of course, I am doing mainly (look away!) carpentry work right now so I presume they'll be fine for me.

Thanks for the info on the 10mm hole... never occured to me that there was variance in that aspect! Whew!

I bought these, have not recieved them yet, but for $2.10 they are probably a good value, irwin is usually middle of the road quality, good for alot of the stuff I do. I don't usually use my cordless saw for fine woodworking anyway.

smaller blades work in circular saws and table saws, you just can't cut as deep at the maximum (by half the difference or in this case, 1/2 of 1/8", or 1/16th).

Note the "Plywood" blade has no carbide teeth, just 80 steel teeth as plywood blades usually do.
