    Wife's Health Issues

As many of you know, the LOML has COPD. that is a combination of chronic bronchitis and early stages of emphysema. She was having trouble breathing coupled with chest pain and was hospitalized last week. Her doctor has been treating it as a bacterial infection but she isn't improving and her coughs are nonproductive.

Dr. Anderson told her today that he is going to move her to an extended care facility that is better equipped to deal with the problem. He told her she would be there a minimum of 25 - 60 days. I am going to put in a call to him tomorrow morning to get it first hand what is going on. Right now I am worried and a little scared, as is she.

In his opinion, the best facility in the area is in Luling, TX. In addition to the 25 mile drive home at night, that is another 25 miles each way for me to go visit her. I probably won't be able to go every night but will try to go at least once a week in addition to Sunday and my scheduled days off. If the weather is good, I will take the trike to keep the gas cost down. Other times I will use her van since it is better on gas than my truck.

Please keep Ginger in your prayers that they can deal with the problems quickly so she can come home to her family.

You and Ginger are in my thoughts and prayers. My wife of almost 50 yeas has COPD but it hasn't gotten to bad yet. Cold and flu season are coming and that is when we get scared or if it gets to cold she has problems breathing. Wishing you the best

Prayers on the way, Pappy! A question--have the doctors considered a viral infection? I had a bad bronchial infection a couple of years ago that hung on for over two months. Antibiotics didn't phase it. Then my doctor treated it as viral with Prednizone (sol?) and knocked it out in a few days.

                          Again, praying for her!

Sorry you both are having to go through this. I just asked our heavenly Father to heal her quickly.

Many thanks for the prayers and well wishes. Papa, I think she told me one of the meds she is getting through the IV was Prednizone. She mentioned it because she is a type 2 diabetic and it is driving her blood sugar out of sight.
