Oh man, that's a hard one. I hope you're paying with a CC or have exact change. Would hate to have to get 99cents back in change because you overshot by a penny.

My local place only let's you pump $50 worth when you pay at the pump. My 16 gallon car doesn't quite get full anymore.

You guys actually look at that?
I quit looking a long time ago and just hand over the receipt to the book keeper.
Much too depressing to involve myself in.

I used to decide on the money when paying cash. But with a card it doesn't matter.

The killer though is when paying cash, and it's topped off, and the cash digits turned half way.

And that was about 4 gallons.
That is back when the dollar ruled though.
I think it still rules, but with a swift kick rather than a heavy hand.

It was about 4 gallons. I can remember gas wars when it dropped to 17 cents a gallon. But at that price you didn't get any glasses.

Weird timing. Just yesterday I got gas and even though I paid credit at the pump I was elated when I pumped exactly $20 on purpose.

My vote: stick with 10.000. More decimals means it's tougher to hit.

                        Closet OCD?

Really now, if you blink, $5 goes by.
I remember times when I was impatient to get to that $5. seemed like it took forever.
