Its not as far fetched as it would seem... the very same store that gave me the g.c. allowed me to return those crescent wrenches that were on sale for full price. I had bought two, one for me and one for my dad. Dad said he had enough wrenches and didn't need any more so back they went.

Just his was returned. I only had one adjustable wrench. There have countless repairs made with a crescent wrench and a slip joint plier in hand... no more!

That's an interesting thought. Not much material or hardware in a DIY one. I dug up this thread, to refresh my idea. It's been a while since, and I haven't had the direct need, so the idea has been on the wayside. But, for young whippersnappers like you, it may be a viable solution.

Good deal. I hate when stores mess up, but when they do right by the customer that takes a lot of the ting out of it.

I bought two of those when I think HD clearanced them out. They're incredibly helpful, and much better than a ladder for in the house type work. There aren't too many times you need more than that height to get the job done, and it gives you a lot more surface area to work. So if you're installing modling or painting, you can get the job done a LOT faster.

                  Agreed.

And that is exactly why I wanted them. There are plenty of 8' sections in the house where I could use this to cut in around molding before painting. Makes me almost look forward to doing it.. not!
