    Werner Platform Gloat

    LOL at Lowes...

Black friday deal on the werner platform ap-20 - $17.

Missed it last year so I doubled down and got two. Ordered thanksgiving day online with no intention of picking up until the following week, heck I didn't even think they'd be open. Went this morning to pick it up and they only had one ready... waited about 20 minutes, bought some pulls for the garage project and told them I would be back tonight since I had to get to work. Got off from work, and of course the first shift didn't leave a note or anything about the morning situation. After some explanation, they apologized profusely and gave me a $25 g.c. for breaking their 20 minute guarantee and found 2 units for me ASAP.

    Total price on 2 units = $9
    YMMV

anyone in Houston need one? I got one at the $17 price, but I'm probably going to return it, not enough room to store it for as much as I would probably need it.

If you return it now, would they give you a $44 store credit?

I considered that one. I also was thinking that adjustable scaffold like this would serve a better purpose, as it's adjustable in height. I thought about making one out of 2x2's and using bed rail fasteners to assemble/disassemble. Whaddya think?

These are some of the few times where buying beats building.... I had ideas of building the folding shop table from shopnotes #98 www.shopnotes.com

but at $17 I can't even buy a sheet of ply......

I have the rolling scaffold pictured, but not through HF. It is extremely useful!!! Mine has been borrowed by an uncle for the last 5+ years, lol. I doubt that you could make a lightweight replica for less.

I'll bet there are times you wish you had it back. Which one do you (your uncle) have? You might be right about making it for less, but it's not always a cost thing...if you know what I mean.

Yes, there has been a few times in which I could have used it, but since he is several miles away and I would need the minivan to get it, it makes it hard for me to stop and grab it when I need it...

I definitely understand building versus buying, I would like to see what you come up with! IMHO its going to be hard to beat the weight, transportability of the pre-made unit.

The one I got in '05 looks exactly like the picture when I looked at it in more detail..... I paid $219, taxes and shipping from Delta, OH to FL. The company is no longer around as far as I know, but it was cheap imported stuff so HF should be about the same, hit them with a 20% and I think you will be very happy. I would inspect whatever "wooden board" they give you and consider using a piece of 3/4" plywood instead. You may have to rabbet the perimeter for the piece to slip into the frame and to allow the top spring loaded clamps to hold down the board.

I wouldn't know about that. Guess I'll just have to take your word for it.
