Hello to all here. I have been out of woodworking for quite a while. I did a complete remodel of our home inside and out. I was a bit burned out from the work and the expense, so I decided to take a time out. Then we undertook the daily care of our grandchildren during the week while their parents worked. Suddenly, all of that retirement time disappeared. I'm starting to go back into the shop again to get the creative juices flowing, so maybe I'll have something worthwhile to talk about later. Oh Yeah, the BT3K from February of 1993 is still running like new and I still have the early production BT3100 sitting in the corner of the basement waiting for the old one to die. That may not change.

Wow thanks for checking in Jim! We look forward to you getting the ww bug again. It was your post on Wood magazines forum way back when that led me down the path that I'm still on today. I wish you and yours the best of health. Happy for you that you are able to spend so much quality time with your grand kids.Donate to my Tour de Cure

Jim, another welcome back from one of the 'old timers'. Thougt maybe you had taken up a new hobby, like knitting or chasing women.....Don, aka Pappy,

Hi Jim -
Welcome back. I always enjoyed your posts and your work. I'm sure that the remodel looks great.
I've been working on an old truck (1954) the past couple of years and haven't done much wood working. Grease and sawdust don't mix. I miss running my BT3000. Two big car shows in Oct and Nov. Then I hope that I can get back to woodworking, too.

Welcome Back Jim!
One of the last woodworking related discussions you had here was with me and the use of transtints!! Boy, that was awhile ago! I have made good use of the info and transtinted a piece of pine into something else, thanks!
I hope woodworking will fill your retirement from here out, a never ending ride of discovery and thought, a creative hobby.I think in straight lines, but dream in curvesComment
