    Useless Knowledge

Only 47 decimal places of pi would be sufficiently precise to inscribe a circle around the visible universe that doesn't deviate from perfect circularity by more than the distance across a single proton.

I can't verify the truth or accuracy of that bit of knowledge. It doesn't matter as this thread is about useless knowledge.

Well here's another useless bit of related information that might be an urban legend. Sometime in the 1990s, the Indiana legislature tried to pass a law that would limit the value of Pi to two decimal places (3.14).

        Maybe not completely useless...

...if you need to defend against a ticket.

The law in most states requires a driver to signal 100 feet before making a turn or lane change. At 70 MPH you will travel 102 feet per second. If the signal blinks once, you are legal!

A group of geese on the ground is a gaggle, a group of geese in the air is a skein.

So, what is a group of ibises called? In fact, what is the word for more than one ibis? ( I guessed ibises.) We ain't got nothin' like that in East Tennessee. Closest thing we got are buzzards.
