We are in Garland (NE suburb of Dallas) and made out okay - just a LOT of rain and lightning. The really bad stuff, thankfully, went both east and west of us. Thanks for asking.
I'm cool, most of the storm cells went around my house and office to the East and West in Fort Worth too. Got some heavy rain, but that was about it.
I was kind of worried about the shop while I was at work. I just put the summer clothes on it last weekend (a 10x10 awning). I hoped this one didn't develop the retractable feature like the previous two have...
I am fine, I haven't heard from some friends from the DFW area though. However they live north of Dallas, and honestly, they were more friends with my ex than me so I am not surprised...
My area in Galveston county though, is having some flooding today. I had a heck of a time getting back to work after lunch today...
It's being a rough week for sure...
Any word from Loring or Pappy yet today? Not sure if they are getting hit with the nasty stuff, would be good to know...
My SIL lives in Arlington. She and her mom made it through OK, although, her dogs (who take anti-anxiety pills for thunderstorms) were not. She said 2 miles down the road, all the houses were torn up. They don't have a basement so I'm not sure what they would do if a tornado came roaring through.
Loring, did you get any flooding? There was a mess of street flooding in my neighborhood in League City... A bunch of debris settled on my tree lawn, but no damage. I heard about some straight line wind damage in Texas City as well...
Had report of a tornado touch down about a mile east of us. Apparently not much damage from that one. Had some golf ball size hail but no damage to my PU which doesn't fit in garage. Wife's school was in "shelter in place" for about an hour. Quite a bit of damage east and west of us but, thankfully, no fatalities.
