Wow! OK ratings but excellent price. Man, I love how tech drops in price so fast! Thanks Loring.

Loring, how's the camera holding up? The house next door was broken in to last week--they caught the guy in the closet--but I want to monitor my detached shop.

it still works, although I have to reprogram it since changing my wifi password.

If you get one they have a model with a IR LED "flash" you might prefer.

Reminds me of one of the TV shows about dumb criminals. A woman had rigged a camera in her living room and she could access the live video from her work office. Two guys broke in and she watched them doing that with this video. She called the police and reported it "in progress". Cops nabbed the guys before they could get out.

That was a great video Mike, thanks for sharing.

Made my day to see those dirtbags busted. At least she has a watch Cat that observed every move they made!!! Now I'm more interested in getting a couple of those cameras.

Loring, the person uturning in your driveway everyday is strange, but most certainly an ingrained behavior for the driver... How are you going to change their driving habit?

It would pay to install a toll booth.

they were one of several, including some of my neighbors.

I put a sawhorse across the drive right in front of my door with a sign on it (4" high letters using Word and some big fonts) that said NO U-TURN on the Horizontal bar and another smaller professional oval sign mounted to it that said Private Driveway - No Turnaround.

That seemed to get the message across, Not too many tresspassers anymore. Even though I long ago removed the barricade.

Usually by the time the headlights flashed through the window and I got to the door they were gone. THe Camera helped identify the guilty parties. So I knew it was few repeaters responsible for most. So a couple of week with the sawhorse and sign worked. I had to move it when I expected guests.

Sometimes when they u-turned they did it so fast they left rubber marks on the concrete.

Maybe a sign announcing the installation of your new driveway spikes!

That would likely make him liable for the damage. There was a story here about a homeowner that had the pointed little cement pyramids lining his yard along the street. Someone drove on them and damaged their tires, and the homeowner was liable.

At $800 per unit, I wasn't suggesting that he do an actual install. Just put a sign up suggesting...

Here's my suggestion from last time:

Many years ago, my uncle had a similar problem. He drilled some 1" holes in his driveway and put lengths of black rubber hose in each hole. It gave the appearance of spikes, but you could drive over them.

Yeah it was one of those metal bracket ones that use 2x4s. I hated those brackets and had them stored away and would not really miss it if stolen.
