One thing it designed out with this concept is a handle. I agree. Almost useless.

I didn't know they were available. Victorinox makes one every now and then with every available blade, saw, tooth pick, scissors, flash memory card, etc. I thought they only made them for their museum.

I believe that the "Swiss Champ XLT" is the largest, routinely sold, knife in the Swiss Army inventory.

My mistake, that's a Wenger. Should of checked. I collect the Victornix knives as I, harrumph!, consider the Wenger a poor relative of the original. Just kidding!

Yikes. I thought Leatherman's were expensive (though ever since I got one I've been in love with them).

Looking at the other items, it makes me think that Hammacher Schlemmer is German for "Rich Duchebag".

Not sure where they got the $849 price shown on TechRepublic - if you follow the link to the Wenger website, the knife shows as $2149.

                Amazon lists it for $975:
                http://www.amazon.com/Wenger-16999-G...dp/B001DZTJRQ/

But read some of the reviews. They turned into a real contest for creative humor writing--some short, some long, many truly hilarious!

Sid you are absolutely right. The Amazon reviews are a total riot. I wasted a lot of time but had a lot of fun reading them. I recommend to all.

I meant to respond when this was posted but I got side tracked. I thought I had a picture of one like this but I cannot find it. It may be in some backup photos somewhere.

There are a couple of these in the Samarai Sword museum in Seki City, Gifu Prefecture, Japan. The 2nd floor of the museum has a section dedicated to knives, and there are 2, if I remember correctly.
