Hung over, without the drunk before...

Every time we get these big shifts in weather, this last one brought by the outer bands of TS Don, the pollen, and mold spores fly, causing my allergies to go into overdrive...

I have a splitting headache, and the general fuzziness one would usually associate with a hangover, but I didn't even get to have to stupor of being drunk to earn it...

This sucks...

I hate that it typically takes a couple of days for any allergy meds to take any real effect with me... Except Benadryl, and that puts me to sleep...

Been there, done that when I was younger. Decided a LONG time ago that hangovers are the realm of younger men... It takes too long to bounce back from one for me these days...

if the conditions are predictable then have you tried taking the allergy meds before the symptoms appear?

Have you tried Allegra which is now over the counter, it helps me without the drowsies.

I usually don't think about it until symptoms show up...

I guess it is a good thing I am not needing anti psychotic meds huh?

Give Zyrtec D a try - works for me. Walmart has their store brand called Equate something. The pharmacist told me the ingredients are the same - just much cheaper.

I have been doing the generic Zyrtec... Probably be back to normal tomorrow...

Interesting...I don't have allergies but when the weather shifts on me--usually
cold to warm to cold or hot to cold to hot, I get laid up with a bad cold. The
only way I've been able to beat it is by taking doses of zinc or by not
dressing for the interim weather.

Antihistamines in general work better if you take them before you are exposed to allergens. I suggest you try either allegra, claritin or zyrtec and take it regularly during allergy season.
