    Pretty cool!
    Happiness is sort of like wetting your pants....everyone can see it, but only you can feel the warmth.

      It is a cool image but....

      There are very few mountains at the north pole, located as it is in the middle of an ocean...

      The relative size of the sun and moon as viewed from earth are very similar.

      Moon:
      Radius = 1,737km
      Distance = 380,000km
      Distance/size ratio:218.77

      Sun:
      Radius = 696,000km
      Distance = 149,600,000km
      Distance/size ratio: 214.94

      The perigee/apogee distance difference for the moon is only like 11%, so such a large difference in size seems unworkable...

        Not to mention the liquid water. As I understand it, both poles are covered by ice caps...

          I think that's PhotoShoped.

          Like mentioned, ice at the polar sites, not liquid water any time of the year.

            It's actually hilarious that there's always the picking apart a picture for something wrong instead of just enjoying the image. It's a beautiful image.

            I guess every picture I get I should check out first. I don't know if your criteria for the image being a fake is accurate, but, it doesn't matter because the picture is a digital image:

            So, that's that.

              granted the atmosphere does have a tendency to distort the size of objects when they are at the horizon, but no where near this much of a difference in apparent sizes would work.

                  "It's actually hilarious" that a pig is a pig and a dog is a dog but your title and Op seems to say that a dog is a pig. What we have here is an image, not a picture. And not even one that could ever be real because as has been mentioned the relative sizes of the sun and the moon as viewed anywhere on this planet don't match what is portrayed in the image. I'll grant that it is a pretty image and if it were used on the cover of a science fiction novel would be fitting.

                      Bahhhhh! You're all a bunch of spoilsports! I like the image either way. If not a true picture, it's a very creative work. Thanks for sharing C-man.

                          Not "actually hilarious" to me. More like inappropriate. Like beating a dead horse.

                            A Rare Truth

                            i think there a difference between a picture, which purports to show something that happened or occurred at some point in time in reality, and a composite image which is a representation of someones imagination based upon some real or possibly fake elements juxtaposed into a single image. Granted, some skills were required find the individual images and combine them to make this pretty, but inaccurate picture

                            Passing this off as a picture of a specific time and place is just not right and shame on those who passed it off as such, taking advantage of gullible people who believe everything they hear. The world needs more truth. Fiction should always be labeled as such.

                              Being gullible in what one hears is different than what one sees. Audible and visual perceptions are different.
