    Suggestions Needed

LOML is making her holiday candies, and ran into a problem. Her hand mixer has to be 86'd. Anyway, I hate to throw anything away especially if it has a motor and it runs OK. What could I make out of a mixer like this?

If the motor still works what broke? The gearing, the beaters?

Nothing broke I don't think. She beat up some white chocolate and found a tiny metallic shard. I inspected the beaters themselves and found a nick where there was metal missing. So, I don't know if it came off the beaters, or maybe fell out of the motor housing, but we decided to pitch the chocolate, and get another mixer.

Is it variable speed? Depending on how slow it can go, there must be a ton of things you can mix with it.
How about putting a canvas inside a cardboard box with a foam sleeve entrance
dipping it into different color paints and making spin art:-)

On second thought, might as well put canvas on every interior surface, make multiple paintings at one time! You can open up an online store called JACKSON POLLACK 'R US.
That's all I've got. HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

Sounds like shop shelf clutter to me. It is too easy to mix paint with a drill and cheap paint stirers. 86 it.

My mixing bench already looks like that.

You could make an underpowered two hole line boring machine with fixed spacing.

Add a foot pedal and some gears to make a hands free powered lazy susan for finishing.

Turn it into a potters wheel for really small projects like thimbles

Use it for a twin screw model yacht.

Universal motor, right? Lock a pair of vise grips on the shaft, hook an ammeter up, and see how much current it will draw before it smokes, then toss it.
Sometimes the old man passed out and left the am radio on so I got to hear the oldie songs and current event kind of things

                        She suggested I make a multi-bore drill.

                              couldn't be a scam

But she threw away CHOCOLATE! You wouldn't dispose of a batch of chocolate in a scam, not even for a shiny new KitchenAid cement mixer. No, maybe a squash casserole or cookie dough made with Splenda...
