Sometimes my mind wanders is wierd directions...

    70 MPH x 5,280 ft per mile = 369,600 ft per hour

    369,600 FPH / 60 = 6,160 ft per min

    6,160 FPM / 60 = 102.666 feet per second

Since most states require a signal 100 feet before making a turn or lane change, if your turn signal flashes once at highway speed it was a legal signal....

"But, Officer, I did signal. The light must have been in its off cycle....."

Some part of me really likes that, and some party of me is afraid, very afraid...

That conversion brings to life real stopping distances.

I think the law in ohio requires a half a mile to signal when exiting the interstate. I remember this from way back when I took driver training. I still think it's stupid and don't adhere to it. A half mile is a long way to signal IMHO. I like your suggestion though.

You're starting to get scary, either you need another hobby, or you got waaay too much time on your hands.

don't think so hard, just signal earlier. It's much easier.

At highway speed, that would be less than 30 seconds.
