    Where is everybody?

It seems like there are not many posts lately.

I'm in California at the moment but I'll be here on Friday: http://www.walesonline.co.uk/news/wa...1466-27254518/

It's my wife's family. My ancestors hail from Eastern Europe.

It's simple, really. When BT3Central became more about posting stupid-ass YouTube links and Craigslist typos than it did about woodworking, most of the people who wanted to talk about woodworking either left outright or cut way back on their participation.

It's definitely been slow around here. Most new posts are only in the Coffee
          Pot.

I haven't had much/any time for shop stuff because of the new baby. Shop
is still recovering from the tree that fell on it. Extra yard work ensued. Work
is busy, too. I don't know where other people work but we're in the middle
of a bi-annual project reporting time.

Pretty much why I've quit visiting/posting here.

I dunno, but me thinks its the vibes around here that has everyone sitting on their hands and not posting .

+3 Most visits lately, I'm in and outta here in under a minute. Although, I do like the stupid-ass YouTube links I post.

                    Bruce nailed it.

The links to YouTube or any other sites doesn't cause one to stop visiting a great site like BT3. What I've noticed is if someone post something that gets one of the other members upset, well there seems to be harsh print forth-coming. As a matter of fact, this thread show just what I mean.

+1. I agree. It's likely that unfriendly comments don't do much to encourage participation.

                        Camping and outdoors

Summer = bicycle/hike/camping ( Just returned from a month RV trip out west)

                        Winter = woodworking.

Summer = posting on camping sites

Winter = posting on wood working sites

If I lived in a better climate I would not get any wood shop time!!

I stopped posting as much when I realized that often times, I wasn't really contributing anything of value to the conversation, instead I was typing because I liked the look of my own prose...

                          sort of like now...

I still find the site useful and the "safest" place to ask a question or post your project. I think we should all encourage members that may feel uncomfortable to post and for those that may have a cutting remark, please refrain. Remember this is just like being at a friends house, so don't make your host's other friends uncomfortable.

                              Perhaps:

Us "oldies" have solved most of our WW problems
Very few newbies - those that are, seem to be well looked after.

                              -OR-

Like me: Shed is "complete" - don't need (or want) anything new
                              (Very) Occasional WW projects.

Now into Plastic model kits (bad weather), and riding my Vespa (good weather)
