How are you spending Memorial Day

This year, I think I've gotten up the guts to go to Wash and look at the wall.

I've been putting it off all these years as I didn't think I could handle it emotionally. I made myself a promise that at the least, I'll try.

Also, if that works out, I'm going to go to Virginia and do some "star gazing", I believe some of you know what I'm talking about.

Wish me luck, this is a big step for me.

Good luck, Bruce. Hang in there.

I'm going to spend the day at home, probably a bit of time in the shop, maybe barbecue, and mock-up some built-in bookcases for the basement. School was finally over yesterday, so I'm still in recovery mode.

Next non-shop project is reviewing/redoing all my class materials to fit the new District Lesson Protocols. Again. That'll take all summer.

The local VFW and Army reserve is having a ceremony. Hopefully my DG's still fit. I'd like to show up in uniform.

I always go to a local cemetery in the morning to attend their remembrance ceremony.

As for the after-festivities, I can't tell y'all... it's a big secret (but I have been given assurances that I will be walking funny for some time afterward...)

Good luck, Bruce. I have tremendous respect for all you veterans. I hope
you can also go see the WWI, WWII, and Korean memorials. The Korean
memorial is so lifelike it gives me chills. I think you should be more worried
about the traffic you will encounter

Thanks to the gulf oil gusher, I have to go into work this weekend. Apparently
some gov't agency said BP's oil dispersant is less safe than the ones they
recommend. The gov't agency I work for has the pleasure of doing some
experiments to prove/disprove that on behalf of the other agency.

Good Luck Bruce, I saw part of the Moving Wall one time and had to leave, couldn't take it.

Will go watch the parade Monday A.M. and put up flags. Bill

Just as we do every year me and the kids will be helping the local VFW Post by placing flags along the walks leading to the war memorial and attending their service.
We'll be remembering those that paid the ultimate price for our freedom.

Bruce, good luck to you! It is ok to be human and show emotions.

One day we should meet up in Georgetown...have lunch, and trek over to Langley. I'd like to check it out too.
