Driving - Boxed in on the freeway

Have you ever been caught boxed in on the freeway, moving cars on both sides and in front and back so you can't get around or past them?

I was driving down the freeway at 70mph and noticed an older car in front of me... a 1970's Ford Pinto - pretty rare to see on the road these days. I glanced to either side of me and saw two Ford Explorers with their Firestone AT tires rolling close by. A glance in the mirror I saw a late model Toyota tailgating me and flashing his headlights. I was hoping the Exploders wouldn't blow a tire and roll over onto me at the same time the Totyota would accelerate uncontrollably pushing me into the uprotected rear fuel tank of the Pinto when I woke up, sweating... what a nightmare!

Yes I've been boxed in. More and more often these days because I insist on driving at the speed limit.

I don't worry about Exploders or Toyotas (I have a Tacoma and I am not worried), but I do get concerned about being jammed while someone is attempting to enter the freeway in front of me.

Never been boxed in or jammed flying. Almost run over once and a few airplanes got closer than I'd like, but never boxed in.

I have had a Pinto and Exploder and they were both good dependable cars. The Pinto had 150k on it when it was stolen out of my driveway, never saw it again. LOML traded the Explorer in on her Expedition and watched gas prices go to $4+ a gallon, that a nightmare.

Traffic on the freeway was so heavy, that a guy didn't realize he was out of gas until he got on the exit.

With all apologies to TB Roye, seeing a Pinto on the road should have been an immediate clue to the fact that you were dreaming!
I wonder why there wasn't a Hugo somewhere in that story though:-)

I had an Omni, Specifically an Omni O24, it has the Dodge-ified Volkswagen Rabbit engine and funky Chyrsler 4 speed manual transaxle. It had the worst case of Torque steer... It was a 1981 model, my Dad bought the car in 1986 for $100.00 with a blown head gasket, he fixed it back up, and I drove the snot out of that car...

Torque steer is passing with 24 PSI boost (290HP/310lbs) in my HHR SS w/stage 1 & FWD.
I have an auto, I don't know how the 5 speed guys shift @ WFO without crashing

I learned to drive in a Plymouth Horizon Turismo. More or less the same car. That car was a piece of crap but it got me where I needed to go I guess.

Yes I have driven a Kadette. Never boxed in by 18-wheelers, though. Betcha went home and changed your shorts, right?
