FWIW, here's the publisher's official response to the criticism:

......It truly is an incredibly rare instance when someone buys both editions, but when this happens we are happy to refund the purchase price of the second edition."

It seems that they are saying they don't have many repeat customers..

Since this is a "Special Interest Publication", available only on newsstands, I wonder how they intend to refund the price?

I assume you'll have to write to them and ask, but the offer did come straight from the horse's mouth...

I hear that Playboy will start recycling centerfolds to save costs. February's POTM will be Barbi Benton and March's will be Bettie Page.

FWIW, I missed the 2007 and 2008 editions. While I do not mind a re-release, they could have been more forthright. Calling it something a bit more honest like...

"Americas Best Home Workshops 2007 2nd Edition" would have been WAY more honest...

Of course leafing through those, it is fairer to say...

"Americas Biggest and Most Expensive Tool Filled Home Workshops".

What I would really love to see is the

"Americas Cheap Son of a Guns Home Workshops 2010". Of course the intended audience would only check out a copy from the library, or photocopy it...
