    Shred The Thought

Our third paper shredder just choked and died this morning. Any suggestions as to a good cross cut shredder that will do at least 8 sheets?

I got this one at OD when they were on for something like $140... A little more $$ than I wanted to invest in a shredder, but had already worn out two cheapies... This thing is a hoss... It'll do a handful of paper, and even cuts paper clips and CD's with no problem. I've only had it about 6 months, though, so I can't really discuss durability at this point...

Try a Royal 15MX (now the 85MX). I bought this one on eBay 7 years ago - still chomping like new. Also does CDs, paperclips, etc etc etc. One available on eBay now for $59.95 + $17.95 shipping - darn good price!

A little on the pricey side but I bet they eat just about everything you can throw at them.

          I have this one ...

I've had it about three years and since I work on corporate financial data, I use it constantly. I typically empty it twice a week and I've never had a problem with it.

LOML went and looked at this one today. Are you familiar with it?

C-man, the reviews in the OD listing for this model are less positive than would make me comfortable... YMMV

I'd love to see a simple home incenerator with a burn box that is about 1 - 2 cu. ft, propane fired, with a nice 110V blower

I considered just burning. We have a fireplace and an outdoor BBQ/smoker grill. But, I'm thinking there would be too much ash to go airborne.

The folks that brought us the Panzer General series make shredders too? Impressive, but I think I'd get more kicks out of the games

They have gone up in price a bit since we bought ours, but I have the "Fellowes Aurora AS1018CD 10 Sheet Crosscut Paper/Credit Card/CD Shredder with Basket" that replaced an old 3 sheet shredder that I had in college and LOML managed to let the smoke out of...

I pretty consistently feed it too much, and it never complains...

My only complaint with it is that the basket fills up kind of fast when purging old documents. (junk mail builds up awfully fast, and I hate throwing away credit card offers unshredded...)
