Finally Found A Use For The Old Router

Can't upgrade it to DD-WRT to serve as a WAP. Could sell it but it wouldn't be worth the trouble, given the price of new ones with warranties. I ended up cascading it off the new one so I when I WFH I have full 100Mb support for the VPN connection back to work.

disable the wireless if you are just using the wired ports for expansion.
The wireless will try to share radio space and cut down on your working bandwidth

Wireless is disabled already, as is the DHCP server but I may have to re-enable that. My wife has a POS terminal she uses for her business and it doesn't seem to be getting an IP address from the new router. It did from the old one.

I agree, . I was hoping to see some really neat high speed gizmo you came up with.

Sort of reminds me of this last weekends shopping trip. My BIL bought a new Linksys router, and I got router bits... Unfortunately they don't work together...

Why don't you just grab a hammer and smash that thing, David? Then you'll have a whole bunch of new router bits...

Hey I gotta do something fellas. Two weeks off work and I can't do much in the shop. One bright spot is I went for the post-op yesterday and the doc says everything looks great and I can carry more than 10lbs after Friday.

Geez, I wish they would stop using terms that mean something else. I was looking for some neat info on what I know as a REAL router; ya know something that woodworkers use!
