    short shorts

A little more than 50 years ago, the girls wore them when they weren't wearing skirts. Golly they were cute, and there was even a song about them. Oh, Betsy SHipley where have you gone? I have noticed they are making a comeback. Thankfully they are not (as I have seen) the big butt types (lots more of those these days). A true return to American values.

The county sheriff declared them illegal as public indecency where I grew up, and enforced it as long as he was in office. Luckily for all the testesterone overdosed boys, he made some powerful enemies and was ousted not to long after that. The scenery got 1000% better quickly!

You are right about them being back in vogue. Living in a college town, I don't mind when the wife asks me to run to the store....

Don't run, Pappy... It won't impress them. Take the Porsche instead.

Now that, my friend, is a SoCal view on life! You are what you drive around here, and if you drive Porsche you are a lady's man...

I think you mean "ladies man", as in "man who gets more than one lady".

Around here, if you drive a minivan or station wagon with sun shades on the windows, a car seat, and a BOB stroller in the back THAT means you are a "lady's man", as in "man who's life is run by a lady".

It also probably means you've been sent to the store for more diapers and pasta-pickups. *sigh*

You know that is what Mark says also. He has to drive by the campus of CWU every day twice a day and at time when I am on the phone with him he keeps telling me "I love the scenery".

I think some people look good in them but some women just shouldn't try that look out. And I have seen some of those women trying it.

Well yeah, you are in E-burg, what do you expect? They set the bar kind of low over there.

                    ZING!

(don't mind me, I'm just cranky about my lack of a Porsche and the fact that I have to go buy diapers here shortly).

As the father of three teenage blonde girls, I would like to protest the resurgence of short shorts, at least for 5 or 10 years.
