      Watch

I always wear mine except when playing softball or basketball. I wear mine with the crystal, (viewing area), on the inside of my wrist instead of on the outside. I've worn my watches this way since I was a teenager and I'm now 71. Have I ever busted the watch this way? Once at work, repairing a traffic flex rail barrier.

As a teen, my buddies used to kid me about it. One time one of my friends was really sticking it to me while we were in his living room, saying I would smash my crystal. While he was seated on his couch, he then proceeded to raise his hands over his head to stretch and. Yep, you guessed it. He broke the crystal of his watch on the wall. (True story).

        Watches

When I used to climb trees for a living, the watch band was always getting caught on branches. The band would break off and the watch would fall to the ground.
I got into the habit of removing the band and just keeping the watch in my pocket. Bought a new cheap one about 2 weeks ago and first thing I did was remove the band. The lady at the counter thought it was strange. But a habit is a habit.

I have rarely found a wristwatch that I was comfortable wearing. I just don't like the feel of them. So at the end of college, I switched to wearing a pocket watch. I think that pocket watches are great (and the new Doctor Who has reinforced that for me). Now I mainly wear the pocket watch while I travel out of the country, and stick to the cell phone the rest of the time.
