    Finally my search is over

Finally after almost 9 months of being unemployed, I am rejoining the ranks of the employed as of Monday morning. I lost my job back in January as part of a major cutback at my old company. I took some time to myself and puttered around, spent alot of extra time with my kids over the summer to the point that they don't want to see me now....teenage girls you know. I also took some time and went to spend it with my mom, just her and I. But over the past two weeks I had been interviewing for a position and they called today at 12:45 and my unemployment came to an ABRUPT end.

I start Monday morning as a Manufacturing Supervisor concentrating on welding and metallurgy

Congrats or condolences, whichever you deem appropriate. It sounds like you might have enjoyed your time off. Glad to hear about folks finding work during these times!

That's good news. Sounds like a white collar job. My job is a no collar job.

Congratulations on finding a job. I have been unemployed since the first week of Feb and can feel your pain. I spent my time rebuilding after Ike. I went on an interview today and we are in negotiations, I hope to be back at work in a couple of weeks.

Very good news! What type of industry?

I'll be attempting to rejoin the workforce in December looking for very similar jobs to what you just got.

Good goin, Grant. Congrats. It's nice of you to take time to see your mother. Hopefully, the time away lowered the tension with the teens. We are happy 'empty nesters' but happy only because the kids four and fifty miles away.
