Considering one of my best friends got a nice clean 2000 Civic sedan with 55K on it for $2,500.00, I don't see how that thing is worth more than $1K for salvage...

Seller might be better off donating it to a tech school or community college auto body program for the tax deduction...

Ask any Minnesotan. that's normal wear and tear for a car in MinneSnowta. It's just a little surface rust from the salt on the roads in the winter...

Post has been deleted now so I can't see the details...

But from other comments I'm guessing it was a rusted out Honda Civic? Maybe they thought it would work as a cars-for-clunker trade-in, though the mileage was probably too high for the bigger rebate?

These days all cars seem better (and more plastic, and we use different chemicals, etc.) but when it comes to rusting, growing up it seemed like anything foreign over 5-6 years old would have rust holes through at least a few of the panels...

nah, it was very banged up front back and sides. I was being facetious, note the roll eyes emoticon.
I think for cash for clunkers you have to own the car for a year or more.
