Very low on the list. I could only put 12 choices. Neither sport hit the top 12.

Well, I didn't see marriage or sex as a choice, but if you ask the injured I might guess football.

I thought cheerleading was actually #1? I know, most people don't recognize it as a sport, but I think I saw an article on it recently.

I choose Golf, I bet the amount of players getting heart attacks far outweith the otherr sports mentioned.

You aalso left out hunting, other than living in Detroit or Newark, I can't think of a better way to get shot, or at least, shot at.

As for me, I'll stick with skydiving and competition pistol shooting.

Are we talking injuries by total number of players, or total injuries? If it's total injuries, my vote is for football or basketball because they're more popular... maybe golf also. If the popularity of the sport is factored out, I'd choose weightlifting or skateboarding (if it includes all those dumb tricks the kids try to pull off... of course they probably don't often go to the doctor after an injury either...)

I'm surprised gymnastics isn't on the list...

                Cheerleading is #1, for girls.

The most dangerous sport is whichever one I am attempting.

I say skateboarding, just because it seems to be most often captured on video. Some of these kids are just plain stupid. It's amazing to watch some of these guys land the stunts that they do, but when it goes bad........all I can think about is "How do these afford medical insurance?". I guess stupidity is not considered a pre-existing condition.

absolute total injuries or injuries per participant (rate)
Will Severity of injuries count? Like death vs sprained ankle...

i would imagine sports like boxing and auto racing have high deaths per particpant.
Total injuries would have to be something like tennis with thousands of participants at the amatuer level with frequent but not serious sprains and pulled muscles.

Maybe its the one that gives you the illusion of healthy excercise but really present no cardiovascular effort at all (look at the pot bellies on some Pro baseball players)

It all depends how you look at it.

                        P.S. I like doug's answer - "which ever one i am attempting"

You left #2 off of the list, but the real most dangerous sport is girl chasing!! More men have come closer to death from chasing girls than any other sport.

I went with golf due to the high percentage of older participants.

I think boxing would be the absolute worst. Some of the martial arts regimens, too.
