Let's try again. ° º What is the difference between those?
Leave out the u, just use ctrl and shift, then type.
U ONLY worked, with the degree symbol, otherwise, it does ¢ I believe that will show the cents symbol, underlined.
When I typed this long thing before, using ones I would use, at some point I found one that deleted everything I typed (I thought I just went to far down).
¼ ½ ¾ ® © ± ² ³ All these are the most needed, by me. Thanks for the tips, and this time I didn't hit some delete key.Last edited by LinuxRandal; 05-26-2009, 10:16 AM. The ° symbol is %%d in Autocad. The newer versions will substitute the symbol in the actual text for most text styles now.ErikComment

For us enlightened Macintosh users, there's no need to remember arcane strings of numbers.
Shift-Option-8 gives you the °
Shift-Option-[hyphen] gives you an em dash (—)
Option-U then a vowel gives you an umlaut (ö, ï, ä, ü)
An en dash (–) is Option-[hyphen]
a bullet (•) is Option-8
My personal favorite is the ellipsis (…), Option-semicolon
There's tons more, all standardized, except some typefaces are missing some characters…
