What do you and a spacewalking astronaut have in Common???

From the AP news wires, on Astronaut Massimino from the Space Shuttle Atlantis repairing the Hubble Space Telescope orbiting observatory Sunday:

Massimino's run of bad luck continued. While trying to install a special plate to remove 111 tiny screws that held the instrument cover in place, a tool's battery died. It took more than half an hour for him to go back to the shuttle, swap out batteries and recharge his oxygen supply

I don't know why he didn't just plug into the 110V convenience outlet on the side of Atlantis and use a 25-foot orange extension cord.

Do you think they ever got up there and found they didn't have the right bit for the screw???

Today I will say bad luck.

Woke up late this morning. Made it to work on time, yet put my foot in my mouth when a cute gal was in. She was helping her sister move, and I made some wisecrack about "shouldn't have picked up the phone" (moved all my family members 7 years ago. I hate moving).

She said she was moving her, because the old house had too many memories, as she just lost her son.

We got nailed, and everything was happening at once, then I get an emergency phone call, that my father has been in an accident, and I am trying to coordinate that and still work. I just found dad a deal on new tires two days ago (tires are still blue). (did I cause Murphy? )
Get off work tonight, go over to my sisters to see what it will take to get the lawnmower going (she is making her husband mow), and I get yelled at by him, for something I haven't done (cop, telling me don't do, or even think about). Follow mom home (she is driving his vehicle as he will be driving a work one for a while), check on dad, and come home to find cops all over the place on my street. Several people on my street think I am one (not) and lots of cops know me from work. I get home and in my driveway, I don't bother them, and they know where I am if they need me.

I think I am a bad luck charm today.
She couldn't tell the difference between the escape pod, and the bathroom. We had to go back for her.........................Twice.

Some of the brightest minds in the world and they lack the common sense to plan a backup battery in the kit!
            or
Due to cutbacks they bought the economy drill that only comes with one battery pack.

I'm surprised the great NASA minds didn't think of the ultimate cordless tool.

I wonder if they brought along the $150 Multimaster as well?

I know money's scarce now, but they really should stay away from HF.
