Those pictures have been printed and will be put up on the wall above my saw. Get will soon Rod. Carole. I thought he would get hurt on his scooter before the saw and it wouldn't be his fault on scooter. It does make you stop and think. Take care Rod.

Whoa! I missed the original thread, but that looks nasty!

Rod, take rest and get well soon.

          Quick!

Someone go take pictures of Rod's shop... I bet we can catch him with sawdust on the floor.

But knowing Rod, he probably swept up before going to the ER.

I missed the original thread about the accident, too. Since accident was in your shop, the ER personnel probably had to go outside and get some dirt for the wound so they would have an excuse to clean it! Take it slow and easy, try to keep it elevated, and enjoy the 'happy' pills.

Carole, keep a voice recorder handy. No telling what you can get Rod to promise when he is 'juiced'! You will want evidence later.

Carole, thanks for posting the pictures. I for one am glad that the bandages are still on. That is one boo-boo that I don't want to look at till its all healed. I know how a trip to the ER is and how some men can be.....well I won't say it because a couple of years ago I had to take Mark to the ER for his finger when he tried to use the router on it. We got lucky and just needed a few stitches. But Marks first thought was he took the tip of his finger off.

Take care of the big guy and keep us posted on his recovery. Mark is gone right now and I am sure he will be adding his comments when he returns from his Boy Scout camping trip.

                  Whoah, What happened?

So sorry to see that Rod... Hope you heal up soon...

NOT going to let LOML see this... I am almost RELIGIOUS about safety in my shop, and don't need her worry throwing that additional complication into the mix...

Hope you heal quickly. I am glad that you posted about your accident as I have been getting sloppy lately and doing stuff that I know I shouldn't. It's a reminder to pay attention to what you are doing.

On the bright side that is probably the last requirement that you needed to become qualified to be a school shop teacher. At least every one that I remember always had at least one part of a finger missing.

That's terrible! I hope you heal soon and that the medicine they gave you helps dull the pain. I always am very careful but worry about that odd moment when something just goes wrong. This will serve as a reminder, I will print that picture of your bandaged hand and put it in the shop as a reminder.

I was telling LOML about this very experienced gentleman on the woodworking forum who got hurt while we were on the way to Woodcraft to get some supplies. She wishes you all the best. When we got there she started asking the salesguy about "that saw that stops if it hits your hand".

Well, looks like you're in good hands, Rod! My thumb incident wasn't quite as traumatic as yours, but it was still enough to appreciate having someone around (wife for a ride to the ER, a neighbor lady to watch the little ones while we were gone). I guess the least we can do is make 'em some furniture every once in a while....

                          Thanks for posting, Carole!

                          Regards,
