    Another CL Dreamer

I know we all get attached to our tools and our projects, but...

    http://toledo.craigslist.org/tls/1120864445.html

The saw is worth , what, maybe $300? The router is HF junk, so $800 for his custom cabinet work? Please note, the price is FIRM, serious inquiries only. I LOVE when they say that. I only wish the posting was serious, too.

It may be out of whack for what getting a "good deal" would be, but you can't blame someone that has pride in his workmanship. Will someone buy it? As a used car salesman once told me: "There's an a$$ for every seat".

He is bored. He plans on using the proceeds of this sale for building another, better one.

I'm not familiar with Toledo, other than the Character in M.A.S.H. Klinger was allegedly from there... However...

Items sell for what the market will bear. Chances are $1100.00 for that simply won't fly. The pic is bad, but that base cabinet looks like some of the junk I put together in high school for speaker boxes... He lists the saw as a Delta about 4 years old. That's fine, but what model? Etc...

There may be somebody out there that just wants a Delta Contractor saw on a mobile cabinet and doesn't want to build his own valuing having it done already so he / she can move right into other projects without having to fuss with it. I doubt it though...

And with a HF router collet left over from something.

Well, you all can laugh, it only takes one interested buyer, with some cash...

It's kinda silly to post something like that on CL with a nonnegotiable price. He must need $1100 for something, like a transmission repair, or to pay a DWI fine, or child support, or back taxes, or something.

Maybe it's a case of "I don't really want to sell it"? For instance, he wants the second saw in his new shop as well, but his wife is saying he needs to sell it. WEll, he can now tell her that he tried to sell the thing, but no one was interested.

LOML had an answer for that when I tried to do it... She said "You need to lower your price so it will sell...". I said "But it's worth XXXX dollars...". Her quick response: "Not to me, it isn't...". Dang!

I'll say if the right guy sees it, it's sold. That doesn't mean it's worth it. Didn't someone on Ebay pay a ridiculous amount for a piece of fruit that looked like someone?

There is no allegedly. Jamie Farr played Klinger, and he was definitely from Toledo. Yes, the Toledo Mud Hens and Tony Packos are definitely real. Katie Holmes is from Toledo, too. Of course, neither one lives here anymore. Danny Thomas is from Toledo, but he doesn't live anywhere anymore, unfortunately.

Funny you mention the market. Toledo depends heavily on the Big 3, so you can imagine what the "market" is around here...
