    The passing of an icon

    Marilyn Chambers has died:

    http://www.latimes.com/news/la-me-ma...,2934276.story

My knowledge of her profession is, uh, extremely limited, ahem, but I have heard she was among the best at doing what she did.

She started out as the Ivory Snow girl and moved on to bigger things...

      Wow, 56! That's young...

Well. I don't know if she was good at her profession or not... But I think it is funny they say her uh, shift in profession spurred a huge upswing in sales of that Laundry Soap...

What was her profession? I hadn't heard of her but can infer the general idea from your statement. Based on her age she would ave been in her prime when I was just a little 'un.

Dozens of possible observations are buzzing around in my brain right now, but out of some sort of weird respect for the dead, I think I'll just let it go... Didn't want y'all to think I hadn't noticed this, tho'...

You sir, have apparently lead a very sheltered life! I would suggest a Google of her name for images, but that would perhaps not be safe for work, and defiantly not safe if the Misses finds out As a woodworker you should check out the Green Door.

I've been to the Tenderloin back in the late 80s', I saw what was behind the green door...

Not that sheltered. Like I said, before my time.

I remember her as the Ivory Soap girl. What happend to her after that? I heard she went into acting, but I don't recall seeing anything with her in it!

I believe you have the correct words in the wrong order in that last sentence!

Too bad we lost such an inspirational actress. My hat goes off to her. I saw the movie...47 times. Had to watch Behind The Green Door that many times to figure out if it was a solid core or hollow core. I'm sure she motivated many young craftsmen into wood working. She will be missed.
