    Hoarding ammo?

This ammo shortage seems to be getting worse. I think everyone that has seen their 401k free-fall in the last year has decided to use every spare dollar to purchase handgun ammo.

Here in Wisconsin it is pretty bad. My Wal-Mart gets maybe one small (25 count) box of .380 at a time. Cabela's has HP only (kinda spendy when all you want to do is fire-off a couple hundred rounds to check a new firearm).

One web site I saw today was actually shut off w/ a message that they are not accepting new orders until current orders are fulfilled.

I'm backordered for larger quantities at Cabela's.

How is sourcing ammo in your neck of the woods?

Not too bad here yet, but there definitely is a squeeze on. Nobody has all the major loads in stock all the time. Usually takes two or three stops to get what I need.

I was just checking some more sites and they all seem out of 9's, 380's, 357's, 44's. They're just out of everything.

No prolbems here in AL yet that I've seen. But we do have quite a large demand here per capita I just picked up a box for my new .40 at Walmart, and they seemed pretty well stocked...

My 10mm ammo is *much* cheaper there then anywhere locally. I expect that the other calibers would be a good deal, too.

I normally don't have a need for more than 15 rounds or so at any given time -- how many do you need?? However, I've got a lot of reloads at home!!

Well it is a new gun, so I want to fire it a couple hundred times to make sure everything is good.

Most calibers are obtainable, (although I only shoot .45 & 5.56mm).

What I can't get is any variation of Glazers (blue or grey tips, in .45)

I live outside NYC, so I'm not involved with the "NYPD pistol gestapo".

BTW, if anyone is interested, I've got about 1,000 rounds of .45 auto brass and will part with them for free, just pay postage.

You folks are starting to scare me. All I have is a hunting rifle and one lousy box of ammo.

I wonder if hanging the trophies (we call them Bambi and Rudolph) outside will scare anyone off...

I like to be prepared, so I have ammo and can't find a rifle cheap enough for me. I will keep looking anyway.
