Walking to work today I went down hard on a sidewalk about halfway between home and the shop. It was a cartoonish fall, where your feet go forward, and you drop to the ground and hit your head and everything.
I called my wife and asked her to come w/ the van and take me home. Then I tried to get up. I started pushing myself forward on the ice till I could find some bare concrete to get some traction on and ended up moving at least fifteen feet. The guys entire sidewalk was nothing but glare ice with a sprikle of snow on top.
So if you live where it is cold, please salt your walk if it is required. I know times are tough and salt isn't free. But my tail bone and back hurt like heck, and I have tingling in my left heel again, and my weekend (at the very least) is ruined.
Rant off.
