    Did You Ever

travel down a Highway and look at the cargoes riding on the trailers as they pass by.

I look at some and say that's a high voltage transformer, that's a load of swimming pools.

But then I see another one and I try to figure it out, not a clue. Did You ever? Bill

Did I ever figure out what you saw? Nope, haven't seen it.

              many

I work IT for the Port of Longview WA, we have imported hundreds (maybe thousands) of wind turbines, that is one blade of three for a turbine. That is not a large one, the longer ones are transported on three railway flatcars, the center car just as a spacer the blades attached to the 1st and 3rd cars. They have to carefully choose the route to make the corners

Those are nice, but what I really mean, is something on a semi-trailer that You look at and wonder what they make or do with it. Bill

I played that game with the kids when they were young and still play it when traveling. Sometimes it's just me playing but it's still fun to wonder and guess. Sometimes the name on the truck is a clue but not often. When I lived in Tacoma WA we would sometimes see parts of an aircraft moving between Boeing's plants. A carnival convoy is fun, trying to figure out what ride something is part of. The army convoys from Fort Lewis would have all kinds of things out in the open and then one truck with something all wrapped up and covered with a tarp. Made one wonder what was hiding under it.

Most of the loads where I live now are wood. Often only three logs to a truck load. There are the huge stacks of veneer moving by truck between the mill where it's shaved off of the logs to the mill where it's transformed into CDX, then it's a truck load of plywood on it's way to market.

only after is was installed and rotating at about 90 rpm the blades for a wind power generator that I worked were only 35' long that one is quite a bit larger.

That is a great picture. We have a lot of these windmills near me and have seen how big they are up close. We saw a train one time that was all windmill parts - the kids thought it was pretty cool.

We are getting a factory here that will make wind turbines. They got permission from the city this week to build a 280' tower for it. Bill
