Nice get, Lee! That is some amazing video. The current in the river was really fast! And so was that ferry jockey... No wonder they wanna pin a medal on her. She definitely gots the skillz.

I've been following a discussion in an aviation forum about this incident and all I can say is this is going to be a textbook case study for how to handle the extremely rare even of double engine failure. The pilot and first officer had less than 2 minutes to run decide what they needed to do and then execute a number of actions absolutely perfectly. Among them: knowing that all available runways were too far away and wisely choosing the river instead of a road or a field, setting down where there was ferry traffic instead of further upriver where there were fewer boats that could help them, and most importantly, keeping the wings level when they contacted the water at about 150 mph.

One airline pilot wrote that he's got a new scenario to try out during his next simulator ride (6 month flight check).

        Amazing video indeed Lee.

Did you see how fast the current of the river was carry the jet down stream? Absolutely stunning that no lives were lost. What a pilot and crew.
