    Christmas Shopping

Did you start it? Did you finish? I am mostly finished already but only because

    a) I really only buy for my wife
    b) I want the girls to learn Christmas is for giving. We went shopping yesterday, one of the few days 'twixt now and Christmas that we could do so.

I am still working on 1 or 2 made things for her and a doll house for my oldest.

I'm done. I only have responsibility for the sons in law and the wife and I don't exchange - we figure that we get anything we want/need through the year. The wife just loves shopping for the grandkids!

Most Americans are uneducated in the ways of Christmas shopping.

        Some have started!
        Some have finished
Most men will wait until the 24th of Dec

No. I've been shopping in 'Black Friday' once, when I was young and foolish. I will never do it again.

I'm glad we got a lot of it done early -- back several months ago when I felt a lot richer than I do now

... but we still have a lot to do. Mostly online orders and gift cards so we can travel light for the holidays. We'll do some on the 24th no doubt, but none on Black Friday.

My Christmas shopping will be done on black friday, on Amazon.com. At least most of it. I am shop building a Christmas present that at this rate will be ready for Christmas 2010... The design keeps changing...

LOML described to me what she thought the ideal shadow box for her bridal display would be, and I have to figure out how to build it... I might be better off trying to start with a French Colonial China Hutch...

Had the important Christmas Saturday (family get together). Meal, visiting while the kids are running around downstairs. Still have to do the kids Christmas in December (I dread that one, for multiple reasons).
I still need to get my parents taken care of. The kids get cash as they get SOOOO much stuff from various sides of their families, if I try to get them anything, it is a duplicate. The cash goes over better as they can buy something a few months later (and the parents start looking at giant garage sales with their toys, why do they repeat that?)
The siblings (my brother, sister and myself), don't exchange (long story and part of the dread).

I am dreading this week. While Black Friday is a mess for a lot of people, our version hits Wensday. The only good thing, is I may beat the crowds and just go pay my real property taxes and be done with it. Next week I start looking for next years downloadable tax forms. Christmas is half over and I am ahead of the game.

Oh, and by the way, you can still shop Dec. 25, at the conveinence store, for all those high priced batteries that were forgotten for whatever gift.
She couldn't tell the difference between the escape pod, and the bathroom. We had to go back for her.........................Twice.

I haven't started yet. On Thanksgiving I'll see whose name I draw for an adult. The grandkids will be an easy one day affair, I'll get them done in the next two weeks. Pat

Since there's only the two of us and we don't exchange gifts on holidays, the shopping question on Black Friday is usually which movie to see.

My wife is the only one I buy for. I went out today to get hers, but couldn't find what I wanted to get. I still have another month, so I'm not worried about it.

Gosh no, its been done for weeks. I detest shopping late as there is nothing good for sale.

We are done except a couple of stocking stuffers for the girls. Nearly all of it was done on line. The only thing worse than shopping is doing it with 30,000 people in a mall that LOVE shopping.
