    10:05 to 10:30 = 25 minutes.

Looks like dbhost is the only one to get the short end of the stick. Maybe everybody in League City had the bright idea to vote at the same time of the day!

No wait at all -- just walked right up to the table and claimed my ballot.

60% of the precinct had voted early.

It's not just me. Remember we just had a hurricane come through and rearrange most public buildings in Kemah. Two of their districts were voting in my polling place. 3 districts worth of people, half as many booths as normal... Nice huh?

Filled out my ballot a week ago and dropped it in the box. In Oregon, we have mail-in ballots. No lines, no waiting. What's up with the rest of the country?

That said, there's still a lot of folks who wait until today to drop off their ballots (Saturday was the last day to mail), so some lines will develop late in day in the urban areas. To speed things up, poll workers will stand outside drop-off locations and folks can pass their sealed ballots from their car window.

No waiting for me. Biggest problem was driving to my old polling place and finding out that after moving + redistricting I had to drive back to one that was about a mile from my house. The old place gave me all the paperwork. It confused the new place and I had to wait till they sorted it out.

Polls opened at 7 and I got there about 7:50 after the school bus picked up my daughter. I was finally out of there at 9. Since most of the people in our area are professionals, I have a feeling most were trying to get things out of the way before work (like myself).

I got to the polling place at 6:55am there were about 75 people there waitng. I was home by 7:35. This is going to be an historical election Nationaly, State and in Sacramento this time. I am glad it is over, LOML almost got tossed out. We voted the same but she went way over the top as far as her reaction to things. The past two weeks, I spent alot of time away from the house or in the shop just to so I would keep my cool. There will probably be one less person here for the holidays as her youngest sister has managed to Pee off the whole family with her political Emails. Like I told LOML this morning after one of her tirades, the good lord willing and the creek don't rise, the sun will come up tomorrow and life will go on. Which got the shop door slamed in my face. Thank God I have to go to SF this evening to pick up BIL and his family at the airport so I won't know all the results until I get back around Midnight pst. Now I fully understand why Sam has banned politics from here. This is still the best place in the world to live and have life, liberty, and the persuit of happiness.

Two minutes to sign in. Two minutes to wait for an open booth. A good crowd, well staffed polling place. A number of young people voting and among the staff, which was great to see.

LOML and I don't always agree. But what makes me angry is when she yells at the TV. She'll get all riled up on a topic even before the speaker makes his point. "It's common sense!" she'll say.

Got there around 11:20 and had to wait for three people in front of me to get their ballots. One person used one of the booths, there were a half dozen or so sitting around a table filling out ballots and chatting. My ballot was number 243 to run through the machine today.

I mailed mine a week ago. Zero minutes.

My work is not over though. For some reason, lots of my clients call today, or the week before, for advice and explanations. This started years ago with judicial elections. Now its all subjects. This year has been exceptionally heavy. Lots of initiatives here, with legal ramifications. I feel powerful.

Total time from walking in to walking out ~3.5 minutes. Less than 60 seconds to sign the log and pickup a ballot, maybe 90 seconds to fill it out and double check the accuracy, and another minute to wait for the scanner to suck it in.

In my town of ~2500, at 4PM I was ballot #1112. Again for a town of ~2500, there were places for ~25 people to fill out their ballots (maybe 50 if more than 1 person is allowed per table as there were only about 15 "booths").

Baring mechanical failure, power outage, printing error, natural disaster, etc. I cannot see how districts can have 3 hour waits to vote... If it's that busy, maybe open some additional polling places....

Polls opened at 6:00, was in line at 6:45, took two and a half hours to get to the table. I was #184. Almost three hours from the time I got out of my car to the time I got back in.

Then drove halfway across Missouri with LOML for an appt. with a doc. Stopped for dinner at 4:30, back home by 7:00, just in time for the early returns. I should go to sleep soon; I gotta teach tomorrow and there ain't no fakin' it!

I went around 3:13 (two miles from my house) and got out of there at 3:38. Less then two minutes in the booth, due to being prepared, but the place I go, changed their lot in the last few years. Only parks about 35 people and had 10 staffers, then the new staffer was sending people to the opposite line from what he was supposed to.

Stopped by a friends on the way back, then drove by the other church used, two blocks from my house around 5pm (lot's more parking there), and they were lined up as long as that much bigger church. I think I chose a good time to go.

Then went shopping for work, no help at HD (got to go back for the strainer, they couldn't find it), but the other place was a dream to shop in.
She couldn't tell the difference between the escape pod, and the bathroom. We had to go back for her.........................Twice.
